Congratulations to Prof Steve Skiena!

The just-published book "Natural Computing: DNA, Quantum Bits and the Future of Smart Machines" by Shasha and Lazere consists of 15 chapter-long portraits of individual "extreme" computer scientists working on biocomputing and other such things.  It includes such luminaries as Rodney Brooks, Gerald Sussman, and Scott Aaronson (all of MIT), Paul Rothemund (Caltech), and David Shaw (founder of D.E. Shaw).  Chapter 8 is entitled "Steve Skiena: Programming Bugs", and focuses on his work on synthetic virology.
