login name and password when you go to collect email next.
- If you DO NOT dialup thru the dept ppp server but you want to read email
FROM your csdept account (and reply to email) change the following settings:
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) server : To the SMTP server for your
ppp/DSL/Cable-Modem provider. Your host will be outside the CS dept DNS
domain and you need to use the outgoing mail server for the domain providing
your internet connection. You can use ssh tunneling to send outgoing mail in
which case your outgoing smtp server will be "localhost".
- You can use the Reply-To: tab to have email replies go to either your cs
dept account (NAME AT cs DOT sunysb DOT edu) or to an account elsewhere
(NAME@mindspring.com for example).
