MSDNAAQ. What is MSDNAA? MSDNAA is the "Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance". It is an easy way to get access to Microsoft Software that is provided free to Students and Faculty. The library checkout system for our department will be discontinued on March 15th. You can download the software directly from the Stony Brook portal which is maintained by the SINC site. How do I get an account? If you are currently enrolled in a Computer Science course (CSE or ISE) you are already in the database. You can complete the registration process for an account by visiting the Stony Brook portal and using your CampusID as your identifier. If you are faculty, staff, a TA or a researcher you must email the Campus MSDNAA Program Administrator to have an account created (sbchan AT ic DOT sunysb DOT edu). More information is available at ELMS for MSDN Academic Alliance Website. How do I get the software? You can browse for and download the software from the Stony Brook portal website. You should burn the software onto CD immediately as there is a limit to the number of times you can download each application. Some software may be available at the Sinc Site in the Main Library, again you should bring a CD and make an immediate copy. Where can I get more help if I need it? There is on-line help with downloading at the download website itself. For help with specific applications, see the Microsoft support website. For answers to questions relating specifically to the administration of this program on campus, see the SINC site MSDNAA page. If you have any other questions regarding MSDNAA, please send email to MSDNAA |
