Spring 2009 Deadline Dates:

• Advancement to Candidacy*: Friday, February 6th, 2009
• Application for Graduation**: Friday, Feburary 13th, 2009
• Thesis/Dissertation Deadline***: Tuesday, May 19th, 2009
• Completion Statements Deadline****: Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

*Last day for the Graduate School to receive Advancement to Candidacy (G5 Status) requests in order for the advancement to take effect for the Spring 2009 Semester. Please submit these forms no later than 4pm on February 6th.

**Last day for Spring (May) or Summer (August) degree candidates to apply for graduation. Candidates should apply online www.grad.sunysb.edu.

***Last day for Graduate Students to file theses/dissertations with the Graduate School Office. NOTE: Extensions to this deadline are not granted.

****Last day for Departments to submit completion statements for candidates who have completed all requirements for the degree

Candidates for May diplomas must be registered for at least one graduate-level credit in the Spring 2009 semester in order to graduate. During the Fall and Spring zero credit courses do not constitute fulfillment of the registration requirement for graduation.

THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates who do not complete degree requirements must reapply for a subsequent degree awarding period. Degree applications are not carried forward.
