The Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology is based on a vision of unprecedented dimension. We, the leading academic and industrial partners in the Center of Excellence, envision a radically new information environment: a world of pervasive computing via a universally accessible wireless Internet. From our Center of Excellence will emerge the next generation of connectivity that transcends the barriers between large, local, and personal information platforms -- a world of communication without boundaries.

Center for Cyber Security
The Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) was established at SUNY, Stony
Brook to advance research and education in cybersecurity. The research
efforts are aimed at proactive cybersecurity, where security problems are
addressed before they lead to exploitable vulnerabilities. It brings together
faculty and students with research interests in computer and network security,
software engineering, formal methods, programming languages and compilers,
operating systems and databases that share the common goal of building secure
and reliable information systems.

Center for Visual Computing
The Center for Visual Computing was established to advance visual computing
studies at SUNY Stony Brook, to promote research and education in Visual
Computing at the University, to attract major federal and state funding, to
motivate additional industries to collaborate with us, and to foster
interdisciplinary interaction within the Stony Brook community and with
other organizations.
