Event Description: 

Abstract: Technology has been a catalyst for human advancement in almost every area of our lives. Remote work and COVID has made that even more evident as our engagement in cyberspace in some ways supplants the ways we interacted before.  As ubiquitous as technology has become, its potential is unrealized in some areas as we have the opportunity to apply technology to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing humanity.  The Sustainable Development Goals represent a combined commitment to achieve targets across a wide array of areas in the coming decade; dubbed the decade of action is critical to us now and our future going forward.  The talk will focus on the importance of collective action, challenges that require a multilateral approach, the role of technology in this context and its potential impact on the world.
