Event Description: 
Sketching is one of the most natural ways for the pictorial representation of any object, and thus becomes a powerful yet easy-to-use modality for content creation. However, it is challenging to convert sketches into 3D content suitable for various applications like movies, games, and computer-aided design (CAD).
In this report, We discuss various fundamental concepts and algorithms related to static and dynamic content creation using sketches. We provide a structured review of various aspects of content creation, from essential concepts to various techniques and algorithms.
We also discuss and highlight various unsolved challenges that current sketch-based modeling techniques face and propose our solution: our new deep sketch-based freeform surface modeling system with Poisson vector graphics backend. We try to motivate the advantages that our proposed modeling techniques and systems can offer to make sketch-based content creation a more accessible and powerful mode of expression.
