WPhD was established several years ago and consists primarily of PhD students and researchers within the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook. The organization is advised by CS faculty member Professor Aruna Balasubramanian. The focus of WiCS is to provide encouragement and support to undergraduate and graduate women pursuing studies and careers in the field of computing.
