Using SSH Under Windows

How do I use ssh from my home PC?

There are a number of free ssh clients for the PC available on the net, such as Putty, which is available on the Transaction Lab PCs. Putty works like a typical PC telnet client, just be sure to click in the Protocol Radio Button labeled "SSH". PSCP, an scp client works at the DOS command prompt just like the Unix scp.

You can also download the Secure Shell Client for Windows. The advantage for this client, is that it has a GUI based SCP client. It is free for Universities / non - profit use. You will need to install a license file. Instructions are available in the Email and TelNet section of our Softweb.
