Course Description

This course presents the relationship between information technology and the systems that use the technology. The emphasis is on business systems with high information technology components (e.g. software development, communications, financial management, etc.). Topics include infrastructure management, information management, security, and communications. Emphasis is given to case studies relating to information management. Management Information Systems – Managing the Digital Firm, Kenneth C. Laudon and Jane P. Laudon, Prentice Hall, and additional reading materials distributed in class or on Blackboard.

 

Grading

á       Homework Assignments: 20%

á       Final Exam: 40%

á       Class Participation: 5%

 

 

Attendance

In order to facilitate the learning experience, it is essential that students make an effort to attend every class session.  Attendance may be taken during class and it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they have signed the attendance sheet.

 

Homework and Project Assignments

Their specifications and due dates are posted on Blackboard. Each assignment must be submitted by the specified due date. Late submissions will not be accepted.
