The Sloan Research Fellowships seek to stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise.  These two-year fellowships are awarded yearly to just over 100 researchers in recognition of distinguished performance and a unique potential.

The Academy of Teaching Scholar award is to nurture, recognize, and reward teaching excellence, evidence-based instruction, and scholarship in teaching and learning through faculty development, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation

The Kieburtz Award was established in 2014 in memory of Richard Kieburtz, the founding chair of SBU’s Department of Computer Science. The Kieburtz Award is bestowed upon preeminent starting scholars in computer science in honor of Dr. Kieburtz’s passion for computer science education
