          Biography
              Esther Arkin received her B.S. in Mathematics, from Tel-Aviv University, Israel, 1981, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Operations Research, Stanford University, August, in 1983 and 1986. Before joining Stony Brook's Applied Mathematics and Statistics department in 1991, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor, in the School of Operations Research and Industrial Engineering, Cornell University, and a Visiting Associate Professor, Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Tel-Aviv University, Israel (2/95-6/95).

              Esther Arkin is the recipient of the President's and Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Teaching, State University of New York 2008, Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences 1997, Outstanding Teacher Award, Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (multiple semesters).
