Event Description

Engineering Serendipity: Global Health Institute with guest Dr. Peter Small

Faculty and staff are invited:
Please join us for the first Engineering Serendipity Seminar, October 20, at 4 PM, in Computer Science 120. The seminar will feature Dr. Peter Small, Founding Director of the Stony Brook University Global Health Institute. This will be an opportunity to learn about Institute activities and discuss areas ripe for collaboration. Learn more about Dr. Small and the GHI here. Refreshments will be provided.

These seminars, an opportunity to learn about and share research activity and interests with your CEAS colleagues, are intended to inspire and support collaborative research and grantseeking. Seminars will typically focus on research thrusts or target funding opportunities, as proposed by faculty, as put forward by the Department Chairs and me, and as related to existing cross-cutting initiative themes. To ensure broad participation, we are asking faculty to propose and lead discussions on specific research topics of interest and to suggest priority funding programs for consideration.

Future meeting dates are:
November 10
December 15
January 19
February 16
March 16
