The objective of the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame (LITHF) is to recognize, honor and preserve the contributions, accomplishments, and dedication of historical figures or current leaders in science or technology who have had, or are having, an impact on Long Island.

In honor of the memory of Professor King-Sun Fu, the International Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR) gives the biennial King-Sun Fu Prize to a living person in the recognition of an outstanding technical contribution to the field of pattern recognition.

Presented at the Latin American Symposium on Theoretical Informatics (LATIN 2012), this award recognizes the paper deemed to be most influential from among all those published in LATIN at least ten years previously. 2012 was the first year that the award was given and selected from those papers published between 1992 and 2002.

The IEEE Visualization & Graphics Technical Community (VGTC) gives this award in recognition of foundational research in the mathematical representation of data for visualization and for service to the community.

IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select members of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.

The IBM Faculty Awards is a competitive worldwide program intended to foster collaboration between researchers at leading universities worldwide and those in IBM research, development and services organizations. They also seek to promote courseware and curriculum innovation to stimulate growth in disciplines and geographies that are strategic to IBM.

Through fellowship, the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals designates an individual who contributes to the development of the field through providing education, conducting research, publishing in professional journals/texts, and/or providing mentoring for other life care planners.
