CS Department Wins NSF Quantum Fellows Award

The CS Department recently was awarded a $750,000 grant from the National Science Foundation in their Quantum Computing & Information Science Faculty Fellows Program. This award will support a new tenure track faculty hire in quantum computing in the department and will bolster quantum computing research and education in the department. We are one of 13 such departments funded in this award program. The NSF press release about this award is here. With this new award the CS department is well-positioned to complement multiple quantum information science related efforts on campus and BNL. The department expects that this hiring will be effective from Fall 2021.
