CS Undergraduate Student Team Ranks 3rd in ICPC Regional Contest

Stony Brook Computer Science’s undergraduate team "Bitmasked Bandits" ranked third in the ICPC Greater NY Regional Contest held on March 7, 2021. The team consisting of CS students Andrew Burford, Kenny Zhang, and Michael Wolf-Sonkin finished behind Princeton and Rutgers but ahead of all other teams including those from Yale, Cornell, Columbia, and NYU.

The full rank list can be found here. Two of the Stony Brook Computer Science teams have advanced to the 2021 ICPC North America East Division Championship (NADC East) to be held on April 22, 2021.

All four SBU teams this year consisted solely of undergraduate students, and, without exception, ranked amongst the top twenty-five of the fifty-five teams at the Regional.

Stony Brook teams were trained by the student-run SBU Competitive Programming Club and were selected through an university-wide selection contest sponsored by IACS and GSO.

Thirty teams (at most one per school) from the four North America Division Championship (East, Central, South, West) Competitions will advance to the ICPC North America Championship (NAC) and the top fifteen teams from NAC will qualify to participate in the ICPC World Finals.
