This year we are happy to welcome 213 new alumni to the Department of Computer Science!

Undergraduate students in computer science and information systems make up the bulk of our new alumni with a total of 156 undergraduate students in the Class of 2017. A total of 45 students earned their M.S. in computer science and 11 students successful defended their doctoral dissertations, earning a PhD in computer science from Stony Brook University. 

In addition to attending the main commencement, where CS alum Jon Oringer (founder of Shutterstock) received an Honorary Degree, many of the students joined the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at their graduation ceremony on the afternoon of May 19.
