Welcome Fast 2015 PC Meeting

The Department of Computer Science (CS) at Stony Brook University is happy to host the FAST 2015 Program Committee (PC) meeting for the 2015 USENIX conference. The 13th USENIX Conference on File and Storage Technologies (FAST '15) brings together storage-system researchers and practitioners to explore new directions in the design, implementation, evaluation, and deployment of storage systems. The conference will consist of technical presentations, including refereed papers, Work-in-Progress (WiP) reports, poster sessions, and tutorials.

The almost 12-hour PC meeting, taking place December 5, consists of committee members reviewing over 130 papers under consideration for the conference. On December 8, presenters will be notified if their paper was accepted to the prestigious conference. The December 5 meeting was organized by PC Co-Chairs Erez Zadok (Stony Brook University) and Jiri Schindler (Simplivity). In addition to several Stony Brook CS faculty members, PC committee members include representatives from NEC Labs, Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, Microsoft Research, Google, Hongik University, Stanford University, and EMC.

PC meeting attendees who arrived on December 4 were invited to attend the Della Pietra Lecture Series at Stony Brook University which featured The Art of Listening. Carefully presented by Dr. Eric J Heller, Harvard University. During the afternoon, if time allows, PC meeting attendees will tour the New Computer Science building at Stony Brook University, slated to open in the coming months.
