Sherry Shi ’15 joined the U.S. Army right out of high school to acquire some real-world experience before taking on academia. It proved to be a smart tactical move for the 17-year-old from West Bloomfield, Michigan. After two stints in Germany and a yearlong deployment with the 1st Armored Division in Baghdad, Iraq, Sherry, was more than ready to put that real-world experience to use as a civilian and enroll in college.
