Xin Wang is currently an associate professor of the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to joining the department, she was an assistant professor in the department of computer science and engineering of SUNY at Buffalo between 2003 and 2005, and was a Member of Technical Staff in the area of mobile and wireless networking at Bell Labs Research, Lucent Technologies, New Jersey between 2001 and 2003. She received the BS and MS degrees in telecommunications engineering and wireless communications engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, respectively, and the PhD degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University, New York, NY.
Xin Wang is the faculty member of Wireless and Networking Systems Lab (WINS Lab). WINS group conducts research in the areas of wireless networking, mobile computing as well as network sensing and detection. Their vision is of network systems that provide robust and seamless services to the end users, and wireless network infrastructure that can provide significantly higher capacity, scalability and reliability. The goals are to do creative and innovative research, and to solve problems that impact the real world. The general topics they are working on (not limited to) are:
